Dinner in a Flash

With our busy lifestyles and time seeming to pass faster than ever, things have to be planned ahead if we're to accomplish, well anything meaningful. I'm here to share with you three tips for preparing dinner quickly so that your family can be fed and you can worry about other things.

1. Planning ahead is critical. Prepare a grocery list ahead of time, keeping in mind the cooking times involved. Buy grocery items that are going to allow you to take shortcuts such as pre-shredded lettuce for things like tacos and pre-minced garlic.

2. Think Sandra Lee. If you don't know who i'm talking about google her name and you should see something regarding her show Semi Homemade. Great ideas for using some pre-made store items along with fresh items that are going to cut back on the time it takes to get hot and delicious meals to your table. Use this concept to come up with your own semi-homemade meals. I'd also like to recommend 30 minute meals with Rachel Ray. Two people you should get to know if you don't already.

3. It's ok to cheat sometimes. This includes leftovers, having salad night and there are healthy freezer meals which require little attention or a little bit of your time. Don't be afraid to ask someone for help. Many hands make light work and can also make your work more pleasant having someone to talk with while you're working.
